Lt. Gen. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Awad Elgamel receives the “Medal of Glory” certificate in recognition of outstanding long service and exceptional contributions to sustainable development.

Cairo, EgyptIn the midst of the complex challenges facing Sudan and the wider world, the “Medal of Glory” Award Ceremony was held as a symbolic occasion to recognize distinguished individuals whose efforts contribute meaningfully to addressing these challenges—particularly through strengthening youth participation in development and advancing pathways towards a more sustainable future. The award stands as a celebration of creativity, innovation, and social responsibility, and highlights exceptional leadership that has delivered tangible impact in the fields of youth empowerment and the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The ceremony took place on Thursday, 14 December 2024.

As part of this recognition, Lieutenant General Prof. Dr. Ahmed Awad Elgamel, Chair of the Higher Advisory Committee of the Young Leadership Development Programme (YLDP) – Sudan, was honoured for his outstanding long service and for his leadership role in supporting initiatives that build the capacities of young people and strengthen their engagement in civil society. Through sustained dedication, professional excellence, and visionary guidance, Prof. Dr. Elgamel has contributed to enabling emerging generations to pursue their ambitions with greater confidence and skill, while reinforcing the values of responsibility, service, and national development.
